I guess not being much of a writer has kept me away.<br /><br />This time of the year at the winery most all of the tanks are full with wine at various stages of production. The spring storm in this area made it difficult to aquire some of the fruits we use. Our vineyard was also hit pretty hard although we were able to offset the loss with grapes from another vineyard in the area. We harvest our grapes the first part of September and as usual we made it a harvest festival and had many people out helping. We followed the harvest with a wonderful prime rib banquet that my honey so thoughtfully prepared.<br /><br />We received a Federal and State distillers permit early in the year and have started to produce small amounts of spirits under the name of Jeff Taylor Distillery. Production will be small and only available at the winery/distillery. Currently we have only produced small lots of Apple Brandy and a unique spirit out of honey. Future products may include corn whisky, vodka and rum.<br /><br />We will be attending the four Pride of Dakota holiday showcases again this year. Fargo and Bismarck will again be having their sneek peek evening on that Friday.
